Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 11:1-5
Today we will learn the words of God with a title of: “Putting Sins Away from Us” so that we could receive great grace from the Lord.

 

  1. The life is full with battles of temptations to sin.
    1. Verse 1
      1. This verse means that every year, every month, every day we would face battles against evil spirits, flesh desires that tempt us to do sins.
      2. The soldiers face temptations that encourage them to sin.  
        • Temptations to be emotional, to grumble and to be not obedient when having a hard trip.
        • Temptations to give up or to escape when facing dangerous situations in the battle fields.
        • Temptations to steal devoted things that were supposedly destroyed so that they would not misled people or devoted things that were supposedly brought to the Lord (Joshua 6:18-19)

Do All Things without Complaining

Bible Reading : Philippians 2:14
Today we are going to reflect the Word of GOD with the theme: Do all things without complaining
  1. What does it mean complaining?
    • Complaining is the same as grumbling, arguing, being grumpy, murmuring, grudging etc
    • It means to complain with the things we see, hear or experience or something that happens.
    • Test yourself if any of you like to do these things
  2. Why do we complain or grumble?
    1. We do not receive what we desire.
      • Example : The Israelites did not get drinking water so they grumbled ( Exodus 15:22-24)
    2. When problems come into our life
    3. We hear of a bad / negative news..
      • Example : The Israelites grumbled when they heard the negative news about Canaan Land (Number 13:31-14:2)
    4. Jealousy.
    5. We feel being treated unfairly.
    6. Our request is not approved
    7. We are sick/ not feeling well
    8. We are pressured with too much burden.
      • Too many tasks.
      • Too much needs.
    9. There is a change going on in our life.
      • The change in the seating place
      • We are moved to a different area of the job
      • The change in the way/ method/ rules
    10. Lack of belief in the Lord.

From God, By God and For God

Bible Reading : Proverbs 4:23
Today we will meditate the words of God with a title: “With God, by God and for God” because our heart attitude plays a pivotal role in our life.
  1. From God.
    1. Means that we admitted that everything we have are from God and owned by God!!!
      • Wealth, Positions, Intelligence, Health, Success, Family, Etc.
      • So as David said in Psalms 24:1
      • So as Solomon said in Proverbs 10:22
    2. We are just managers.
      • Adam was a manager (Genesis 3:23).
      • Saul’s position as a king are from God (1 Samuel 13:13-14)
      • The proud Nebuchadnezzar was made become animal-like. (Daniel 1:1-2, 4:28-33)
    3. If we admit that everything we have are from God and owned by God, thus we would be honest and humble in front of God.
      • David said in 1 Chronicles 29:14
      • Paul said in  2 Corinthians 4:1
    4. If we are being honest and humble in front of God, then we will be trusted and be given a greater trust by God.
      • 521 talents (Matthew 25:21-23).
